Hello friends, and welcome! We’re thrilled to begin sharing the stories behind each of our uniquely designed apartments at The Raven. Every space has been carefully curated to feel like a true home away from home – where comfort, history, and thoughtful design come together.

We’re kicking things off with Apartment 1 – Sanctuary, our most luxurious suite and a remarkable blend of tranquility and heritage.
Originally the chapel of the historic funeral home, Sanctuary is a two-bedroom apartment steeped in character.
When designer Jill Adler first stepped into the space, the stained-glass windows, bathed in deep green and golden tones, immediately reminded her of a forest glade. From that moment, the vision for Sanctuary became clear – to create a peaceful retreat that still honored the room’s sacred past.
Jill infused the space with botanical elegance, choosing rich textures and antique furnishings with intention. Among the standout pieces are a vintage pine glass-topped antique bookcase, imported from England, a King George III English desk chair, and perhaps the most unforgettable element: the kitchen island, made from a coffin discovered in the building, complete with its original handles.
The primary bedroom features a plush king-sized bed and an original ornate fireplace, now purely decorative but full of charm.
Sanctuary also includes a beautifully designed second bedroom, anchored by a queen-sized bed and a writing desk, ideal for those who might need a serene spot to work during their stay.
The bathroom is stunning. It features a large vanity, a luxurious walk-in shower, and a hidden apartment-style washer/ dryer.
One of the bathroom walls has decorative wallpaper on it.
Whether you’re here for rest, reflection, or inspiration, Sanctuary is exactly what its name promises – a place to pause, breathe, and feel at home.
Stay tuned—we can’t wait to share more of The Raven with you.
